July 6, 2023 - President Saxton and the 4th of July

What's up everyone! This last week had a lot going on and was really eventful.

First off our new mission president came in and I love him. He's such a chill guy. He's got the greenie fire for sure haha. Right off the bat he was joking around with us and having fun. He's got a lot of new ideas that I'm excited about. Part of me wishes I had more time with him but I'm gonna live it up while I've got time.

I had my last zone conference this week so that was surreal. I've been doing this for so long that it feels weird to think that was the last one. I gave my departing testimony at zone conference and It was really cool. I felt the spirit really testify to me how much the mission has changed me and how much my testimony has grown. I'm really gonna miss it all I think.

The 4th of July was a ton of fun. We visited some less active members and went to one of their BBQ's. It was chill and then some guy ran inside having a panic attack and then to calm him down like half the people went into the garage to smoke a bunch of weed. It was not the 4th of July BBQ I'm used to haha but it was entertaining. Pres let us stay out til 10:30 to watch fireworks so we went to a members house with some other Elders and just played ping pong, corn hole, and watched fireworks. God bless America 🇺🇸

Our friends are doing pretty well. A lot of them are just stagnant and we're trying to get them to progress. Our friend Glenna who we thought was gonna progress fast called us and I guess because of some YouTube videos and Netflix documentaries she saw (that aren't even about our church) made her not want to meet. Oh well. I love it though, theres a lot of potential for the future.

Yesterday we were chilling at a park doing comp study and a girl walked up to us and was really nice and started asking questions. She was from Calvary Chapel church and they were doing a youth group. Anyway she started off by saying how she doesn't see why Christian denominations fight and how we should work together. I was like yeah for sure and asked questions about her and it was really nice. Then she proceeded to very politely bash us haha. I honestly think we did pretty well, I felt the spirit and we didnt give into any of bashing. I think she was trying to Provoke us lol. I got to read some Mosiah 3 with her about Jesus Christ and left her with a Book of Mormon. It did help that she was like 22 and pretty cute hahaha.

Also gotta see Coach Nate who was my soccer coach for like 5 years so that was pretty sweet.🤟

Hope yall are good! Church is true, have a good week!
