February 20, 2023 - Sometimes There's Some Loooong Days

This week was pretty busy and I was pretty dang tired honestly. I love the mission and it's awesome but sometimes it is definitely a grind. We took some of the new missionaries out on their first night and I swear God always gives them some miracles right off the bat. We talked to a few people and got some return appointments like right as we got out of the car so the new missionary was pumped.

Our buddy Lloyd who we've been working with to come back to church told us all about his pet pigeon he used to have that he got at the park when he was doing community service for his speeding ticket but then he saw another pigeon kill it and so now he owns parakeets lol.

Eva and our boy Henry came to church. Eva was kinda concerned because we didn't have a cross and she's used to non denominational Christian church's with loud music and a pastor so hopefully we can help her understand a little bit tonight. Henry loved it tho, he asked us to show him the baptismal font so maybe that's a good sign haha.

Quick thought while studying the sermon on the mount and comparing Mosiah 18:9. "Mourn with those that mourn". We don't need to counsel those that mourn, we don't need to fix those that mourn, we don't need to judge those that mourn, we don't need to give advice to those that mourn. We mourn with those that mourn and just love them as Christ does. I just  studied Job and his friends are very critical and self righteous thinking if only Job did this or that then things would get better. But Job just needed someone to be by his side and mourn with him. Jesus Christ is the one that heals and will bring true counsel and help. Its the Atonement of Jesus Christ and not our role. So next time someone is struggling just love them and "mourn with those that mourn"!
