September 5, 2022 - One Year
Woah we made it. The big 1.0 mark. I officially hit 1 year as a missionary tomorrow the 6th so I'm pretty hyped about it. It's been the fastest slowest year haha. Its been hard and I've grown and changed a ton and I'm grateful for it all. 1 more to go

This week was wild. We picked up our new missionary Elder Hancock and he's a stud. I already have a ton of respect for him hes a great missionary. And he loves soccer and is a Manchester United fan so that's been sweet. Being in a trio has been so fun we always have some good laughs. We had a crazy contact one night where we went to go visit a self referral and it was late at night in a sketchy spot of the area we ended up in this tiny little home apartment with this guy and his homeless friend. His friend pulled out his magazine and I'll just it wasn't the best magazine. Then he pulled out his drum sticks and taught us how to play the drums on a 5 gallon bucket. My comps then proceeded to distract the homeless friend and play drums with him while I listened to the guy we wanted to talk to just let out some things he needed to talk about while he held his wild squirl he raised. Yeah it was crazy. It was cool tho I was able to teach this guy about prayer and repentance even tho he had a prior knowledge, and just comfort him with some principles. My comps were dying playing drums with this dude while I taught hahah. Our trainee was scared but it was funny Elder Rhoades and I were totally calm. It's cool I've gained a total confidence that the Lord is on our side and protects us.
I wanna add a brief testimony for my year mark. I know Jesus Christ lives and is our Savior. I know He leads and guides His church on the earth. I know the Book of Mormom is true and along with the Bible teaches us how to return back to our Father in Heaven. I know God loves and is aware of all his children in all circumstances. I know this not because I've seen God or an angel or heard a voice. But because I've studied, read, prayed, lived it, shared it and seen it change lives and as I've done that I've felt the Holy Ghost testify to me that its true and has helped me feel His grace. It's real and I just wanna invite everyone to say a lil prayer tonight and see what happens!
