November 8, 2021 - I'm Headed to Washoe!

This week was kinda crazy! The beginning of the week consisted of getting Elder Houston ready to leave and then sending him off to Argentina on Thursday. It was sad to see him leave and it's weird to just have me and Elder Weaver now. Then we had some service this week and even helped a family already decorate for Christmas put together their new fireplace haha. Crazy because I'm the type of person who doesn't like to put decorations up until after Thanksgiving haha.

On Sunday we had a random guy walk into church, he was wearing jeans and a hoodie and he looked super anxious/nervous. We welcomed him in and we sat by him and then afterwards we talked and exchanged numbers and all that. He's the nicest guy and you can tell he's looking for something and he said he really enjoyed church and could tell there was something different and special. He texted us that night and was grateful and said he wanted to call us later. It's amazing how Heavenly Father helps guide people on their path through life to places they need to be.

Sooo I'm getting transferred out of sparks and I'm going to Washoe Valley with Elder Henline! I'm actually really bummed to be leaving this area and all the amazing families and friends we've been teaching. Especially Jules because she's supposed to get baptized on the 16th so I'm super sad. I might be able to still attend the baptism so I'm praying I can!! This was the best place to start my mission but I'm sure Washoe will be sick too. Anyway I'd invite you all to listen to President Monson's talk from 2010 called the divine gift of gratitude and find ways to express gratitude to Heavenly Father and to the people around us!! Expressing gratitude really will make a difference in our lives! Thanks for all the emails. I love them and I'd love to hear from everyone and see how you guys are doing so feel free to email me!!
