November 15, 2021 - We Taught a Dude in Pakistan

This week felt like an eternity. We had transfers on Wednesday so I had to say goodbye to everyone in Sparks that I came to really appreciate and love. I'll see them again tomorrow though because I got permission from president to go back and attend Jules baptism!! I'm so excited for it it'll be sick. Then I met Elder Henline on Wednesday and headed over to Washoe. It's funny Elder Henline is from Sandy and went to Hillcrest lol he lived probably like 10-15 min from me back home.

Washoe Valley is pretty cool and we live in a house and it's just me and Elder Henline so it's pretty spacious. Even though it's only like 20 min outside of Reno it's like this small valley that's basically a small old country town. It's got a nice lake and I've seen some wild horses and there's bunnies running around everywhere. I guess there were saints here back in like 1858 and Orson Hyde was here, but when some of them left I guess Orson never received due payment from the locals so he cursed Washoe Valley with uncontrollable winds until the end of time. Gosh darn it Orson. So I guess it's pretty windy here but it's also a lot more pretty than the rest of Nevada.

There's this one guy named Ty that we met with who's awesome but he's so open minded that he's almost closed minded. He's gonna read the Book of Mormom but he said he needs evidence specifically archeological evidence to believe it. It's a tough one but we're working with him and we discussed some cool things but I'm praying he reads and gains a testimony of it for himself. We also did a Bible study on Facebook with this guy Elder Henline found on Facebook and turns out he's in Pakistan. Yeah Pakistan who would've thought. Not sure what we're gonna do but its pretty crazy we're two teenagers from Utah living in Washoe and doing a Bible study with some random dude in Pakistan.

Scripture for the week: Mosiah 18:9

"Yea, and are willing to mourn with those that mourn; yea, and comfort those that stand in need of comfort, and to stand as witnesses of God at all times and in all things, and in all places that ye may be in, even until death, that ye may be redeemed of God, and be numbered with those of the first resurrection, that ye may have eternal life"

Love yall
